Life Pacific College (LPC) announced that Dr. Jim Walz has been selected as the new Chair of Business Administration beginning July 1, 2018.

Dr. Walz returns to Life Pacific College after serving as Professor and Chair of the Department of Business and Management at Vanguard University. Prior to that, he served as the Dean of the Rinker School of Business at Palm Beach Atlantic University, and Associate Dean at the School of Business and Management at Azusa Pacific University. Dr. Michael Salmeier, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Life Pacific College, stated, "Dr. Walz is a great fit for our Business as Mission focus. He brings extensive experience as a professor, administrator, and business professional," He continued, "Even more so, he brings a heart of compassion and service. We are excited about having him back in the family here at LPC and look forward to what God will do through him in the lives of our students."

Jim, or Kimo, as his close friends call him, has a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, and a Masters in Business Administration, and has served in leadership and management roles in the entertainment industry, higher education, health care, and as a Naval Officer. He and his wife, Laurie, have planted a Foursquare church and currently are Associate Pastors at Hope Chapel Huntington Beach, where Laurie is the Young Adults Pastor. Jim has also been the President of Life Bible College East, Life Pacific College, and a member of the Foursquare Cabinet. He and Laurie have two grown children. Their daughter, Lindsey, is a Life Pacific College alumna and a recent law school graduate. Their son, Jamie, is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh with his masters in international development and works for World Vision in London.
