Encounter

the Bible
Differently.

Gen Z's relationship with Scripture is at a crisis point. Life Pacific University is responding with an immersive, fully funded annual trip to the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., grounded in research and designed for how this generation actually learns.

ABOUT THE VISION TRIP

THE PROGRAM

A Crisis That Demands
A Different Approach.

Only 4% of Gen Z holds a biblical worldview, lower than every generation before them. The American Bible Society reports Gen Z is the least likely generation to engage Scripture (30%). In 2024, for the first time ever, more Americans said they never use the Bible (40%) than those who use it regularly (38%). Traditional classroom instruction alone cannot reverse this trend.

Gen Z students are EPIC learners: Experiential, Participatory, Image-rich, and Connected. They need to encounter Scripture through experience, community, story, and emotion, not just lecture. The Biblical Literacy Program is built on exactly this framework, using a fully funded annual trip to the Museum of the Bible as its centerpiece.

MORE THAN JUST A TRIP

A Spiritual Formation
Experience.

Life Pacific University is building on the foundation of the Biblical Literacy Project, a proven model designed for how Gen Z actually learns.

The idea is simple.
Students don’t just need to study Scripture. They need to experience it.

Starting in 2026, LPU will send students each year to Washington, D.C. as part of a fully funded, immersive experience tied directly to this approach.

No cost.
No barriers.

This is an opportunity to engage the Bible in a way that moves beyond the classroom.

FIRST STEP

The Vision Trip.
Coming May 2026

This May, the group pictured here, a small team of Life Pacific University students, faculty, and partners, will travel together to the Museum of the Bible for a carefully guided first expedition.

They’re not just attending. They’re stepping in first, experiencing it firsthand so it can be built the right way for students.

What they see, learn, and help shape on this trip will directly influence what future students experience.

01

Experience It First

Faculty, staff, and selected students will experience the Museum of the Bible firsthand, walking through exhibits, engaging the content, and assessing the full scope of what the program can offer LPU students.

02

Shape the Program

The Vision Trip is a listening and learning experience. Insights, reflections, and discoveries from this trip will directly inform how the annual Biblical Literacy Experience is structured for future cohorts starting in 2026–27.

03

Launch Something Lasting

Every future student who makes this trip will benefit from the groundwork laid here. The Vision Trip is the foundation of a signature LPU experience that will shape students for decades.
