Gretchen Abney, PhD has served in ministry for 29 years in a variety of roles including worship pastor, children’s pastor, youth pastor, and ordained co-pastor. In 2021, she became the Campus Life Director at Life Pacific University in Christiansburg, Virginia. As of July 2025, she also serves as the Director of the Master of Arts in Strategic Leadership program. Gretchen is the creator and coordinator of Cultivate, a 7-month leadership development program for women in ministry.
She has served the Foursquare Denomination as a member of the Board of Directors and the Atlantic District Council, and currently serves on the V3 Movement Board. A passionate advocate for the sponsorship, development, and empowerment of leaders of every gender and generation, Gretchen brings deep commitment and experience to every space she leads.
She holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Southeastern University, as well as a B.A. in Human Growth and Development and an M.A. in Strategic Leadership from Life Pacific University.
Gretchen and her husband, Trey, are proud parents of three young adult children: Christian, Colin, and Caroline. Her favorite things include sunsets, ice cream, hiking, and cheering on college football.
