DLC is the college and ministry training program at Daybreak Church, located in the sunny coastal town of Carlsbad, California (30 minutes north of San Diego). We are passionately dedicated to preparing student leaders for fruitful ministry within the church, marketplace, and world. Our Approach In DLC, students participate in a two-pronged leadership development program that combines (1) degree completion with (2) hands-on immersive ministry training. This combination of knowledge and application is transformative, empowering each student to grow in who they are and what they are capable of. They will be equipped to boldly step into their future Christ-centered with tangible skills. Academics DLC is a proud partner and extension site of Life Pacific University, offering students a choice of six degrees. Ministry Training The DLC experience is distinct as it provides ministry training beyond an accredited degree. Students participate in extensive hands-on contexts, learning ministry fundamentals in specific Practicum environments, including: Kids Ministry, Youth Ministry, Adult Ministry, Worship Ministry, Production (Audio/Video/Lighting), and Design & Media. DLC students don’t just learn about ministry and leadership theoretically; they apply what they are being taught, in real time, every week. Student Life DLC provides a rich student life experience that includes beautiful housing 5 minutes from the beach, missions trips, spiritual retreats, community events, and opportunities to develop life-long friendships. Cost At just $17,000 a year (including housing), DLC tuition is 50-70% lower than most private Christian colleges and universities. Our program is specifically designed to empower students to discover and live out their unique God-given purpose with less financial burden. Financial aid is available for eligible students through Cal-Grant (California residents) and FAFSA applications.
