Home E News E A Historic Milestone: Life Pacific University Launches Its Inaugural Doctor of Ministry Cohort

University

Life Pacific University celebrates a defining moment in its history: the launch of its inaugural Doctor of Ministry (DMin) cohort, offered in both English and Spanish. This pioneering cohort represents a major step forward for LPU as we expand Life Pacific Seminary to offer accredited post-graduate degrees, marking a new chapter of academic depth, global reach, and Spirit-led formation.

“My time during the residency week for the Doctor of Ministry program was full of excitement, both from students and faculty, as we stepped into this new venture together. I was quickly invited into a new community of scholar-practitioners in my cohort, and I am stoked to learn alongside these new friends. The most encouraging thing, however, was the intentional time that was carved out for us to contemplatively and prayerfully be still with God for an entire afternoon to seek his guidance and empowerment at the beginning of this journey to become doctors of the church. Academically, I’m confident this program will sharpen my skills, and spiritually, I’m convinced it will continue to form me into a person of love that looks more and more like Jesus”, says Pastor Zach Hafner, MA, Chair of the Ministry and Leadership Program at Life Pacific University.

Comprised of pastors and ministry leaders from across the United States and Latin America, this group has come together with a shared passion: to be further equipped for transformational leadership through Pentecostal, biblically grounded education. These leaders aren’t simply pursuing advanced credentials. They’re investing in their calling, strengthening their theological foundation, and sharpening their ability to serve the Church and their communities with wisdom, power, and humility.

Offering the DMin in both English and Spanish reflects LPU’s commitment to accessibility, diversity, and global impact. Across languages and cultures, students are united by the same mission: to grow as leaders who are Christ centered, Spirit filled, and responsive to the work of the Holy Spirit in today’s world. Classrooms have already become spaces of rich dialogue, spiritual renewal, and collaborative learning as students engage deeply with faculty and one another.

Dr. Ken Bringas, Director the Life Pacific Seminary, shares, “Throughout the course of our inaugural Doctor of Ministry Residency Week, our students got to hear from incredible faculty on Pentecostal history, faith, and tradition. We are thrilled that these students will be taking the next step in their lives and ministries through the education and empowerment surrounding Pentecostal Leadership. These students are going to impact Foursquare and beyond with their callings in the now and the future”.

The launch of the Doctor of Ministry program affirms Life Pacific University’s longstanding vision to develop leaders who influence the world for Christ. As these pastors and leaders continue their journey, they will take what they’ve learned back into churches, organizations, and communities, multiplying impact far beyond the classroom.

This historic beginning is only the start. Applications are now open for the next Doctor of Ministry cohort beginning in July 2026.
