University, California

As the fall semester concludes, Life Pacific University Athletics is celebrating a season marked by growth, renewed momentum, and standout achievements across multiple programs. With first-year head coaches sparking fresh energy, student-athletes setting new performance benchmarks, and several teams rewriting program history, the 2024–25 year is shaping up to be one of the most promising yet for the Warriors.

Women’s Volleyball delivered one of the strongest seasons in program history under new head coach Liz Salas. The Warriors finished 16–9 overall and 11–5 in GSAC play, securing the #4 seed in the GSAC Tournament. Their postseason run ended in a hard-fought matchup against #11 The Master’s University, but the strides made this year signal a new era for the program. Recognition for sophomore Jocelyn Hernandez on the GSAC All-Conference team and freshman Marlayina Masani as GSAC Newcomer of the Year underscored the exceptional progress made on the court.

Women’s Soccer experienced a dramatic turnaround of its own, recording the most wins in program history with a 9–8–1 record and a 5–7–1 mark in conference. The improvement under first-year head coach Shane Shelton stands out as one of the most significant transformations in the GSAC this year, especially after last season’s 1–16–1 finish. Junior defender Stevie Spencer and senior forward Brianna Figueroa earned GSAC All-Conference honors, anchoring a season defined by grit, competitive fire, and steady improvement.

Men’s Soccer also displayed resilience throughout the year, battling in multiple close contests and recording strong ties against GSAC opponents Hope International University and The Master’s University. Their record doesn’t fully capture the progress made, but the team’s toughness and competitive spirit laid critical groundwork for future success.

On the court, both basketball programs have opened the year with promising momentum. Women’s Basketball has started 7–2, highlighted by notable wins over the University of La Verne and Caltech. Their balance, composure, and early-season consistency have positioned them well as they move toward GSAC play.

Men’s Basketball, led by first-year head coach Evan Jenkins, has matched that energy with a 6–3 start, including victories over Providence University (Montana) and Corban University (Oregon). The team has quickly embraced a new identity and competitive style under Coach Jenkins, showing strong potential as they transition into conference competition.

Looking ahead, anticipation is building for the Beach Volleyball program, which launches its spring season on February 4. The team continues to grow in depth and competitiveness, and this season is expected to mark another meaningful step forward.

Beyond competition, the semester also included major academic accomplishments. Nine student-athletes were recognized as GSAC Scholar-Athletes, exemplifying the discipline, character, and dedication that define the Warrior experience. Their achievements reinforce the department’s commitment to excellence in every area—athletics, academics, and personal development.

With basketball entering GSAC play, Beach Volleyball preparing for opening day, and offseason development underway across fall sports, momentum continues to climb within LPU Athletics. The energy on campus is strong, expectations are rising, and every program is working with a unified purpose: to elevate Warrior Athletics to new heights.
