Angie Richey, Ph.D.
President of Life Pacific University
Dr. Angie Richey was named the 11th president of Life Pacific University in 2019, bringing a dynamic blend of leadership, bridge building, innovation, and a deep passion for empowering others toward their God-given purpose. Two of her guiding scriptures—John 10:10 and Ephesians 2:10—reflect her commitment to helping individuals flourish in their faith and calling.
A seasoned educator, licensed therapist, and future-focused leader, Dr. Richey possesses an expansive knowledge of higher education, institutional advancement, and The Foursquare Church. With over 25 years of experience at Life Pacific, she has served in faculty, staff, and executive roles, providing her with a unique, multi-dimensional perspective on the university’s mission and impact.
Academic and Professional Background
Dr. Richey holds:
• A Ph.D. in Counseling and Psychology from Regent University
• Two master’s degrees from Hope International University:
o M.Ed. in Curriculum Design & Instruction
o M.A. in Marriage & Family Therapy
Throughout her tenure at Life Pacific, she has led transformational initiatives in enrollment, communications, and strategic branding. As Vice President of Enrollment and Chief Communications Officer (2016-2019), she strengthened LPU’s brand identity, increased enrollment, and built a media and marketing team aligned with the university’s mission. Her leadership also helped ensure LPU’s eight-year reaffirmation with WSCUC and continued accreditation with ABHE.
Beyond academia, Dr. Richey has made an impact in media and mental health. She produced a nationally broadcast documentary on forgiveness, in collaboration with Academy Award-winning producer Arnold Shapiro, and established a thriving private counseling practice serving executives, entertainment industry professionals, artists, and teens.
A Recognized Voice in Christian Higher Education
Dr. Richey’s expertise has been featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education and Christianity Today. She has also presented on Generation Z’s evolving needs at national conferences, including the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) International Forum. Known for her ability to build and empower diverse, high-caliber teams, she fosters a culture of ownership, innovation, and spiritual formation at Life Pacific.

Alongside her husband, Jack Richey—a business owner, pastor, and strategic executive coach—she co-founded The Gathering, a simple church network, and Modern Health, a private counseling practice. Married for 31 years, they are proud parents of two adult married children and grandparents to William Jack.
