Fernando Castillo Jr. serves as supervisor of the Pacific Southwest District. Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, Fernando earned a degree in architecture in 1997 before moving to the U.S. to attend Life Pacific University, where he received his degree in 2001. In 1999 he married Karen Larson, the daughter of Foursquare missionaries to Colombia. Fernando and Karen have two sons.
After serving two years as youth pastors at the Azusa Foursquare Church in Southern California, the Castillos moved to Honolulu in 2002 to serve as youth pastors at New Hope Oahu (Oahu South Foursquare Church)under Pastor Wayne Cordeiro.
In 2004, the Castillos helped plant New Hope Diamond Head (Diamond Head Foursquare Church) in Honolulu. Today, the church has two campuses and sees more than 1,200 people in weekly attendance. In keeping with the pastor’s passion for missions, New Hope Diamond Head has ongoing ministry in India, Haiti, Japan and Taiwan.
