Nakisha Wenzel is the Senior Pastor of King’s City Church in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. She and her husband Michael have been married for ten years and are the parents of an energic four-year old named Manny. Together, they own a chain of coffee shops called Big Red’s Café, which they utilize to reach their community, connect with other business owners, and provide a gathering place. Nakisha whole-heartedly believes in the power of business as mission and is committed to encouraging and empowering others pursue it. She has worked in Community Planning & Development, Economic Development, Nonprofit expansion, and Small business Coaching.

With a background in local government, she intentionally partners with city officials in her current context to serve her community. She passionately pastors her city, which she views as her mission field, and serves on several boards and committees; including the Kings Mountain YMCA Board of Directors, the City of Kings Mountain Special Events Committee, and the Least of These Carolinas Board of Directors, where she serves as Chairman.

Nakisha contributes to the Atlantic District of The Foursquare Church as an Area Pastor, providing oversight and pastoral care for over a dozen Pastors and leaders. She is a Church Planting Catalyst, with Foursquare Multiply, working to identify and mobilize church planters and sending churches. In the former Southeast District of Foursquare Churches, she served as a District Council member and represented her region as a Foursquare Cabinet member. Nakisha has also served as an Associate Pastor, Worship Leader, NextGen Director, Student Pastor, and Communications Specialist working with a vast array of demographics and church cultures, often in a bi-vocational capacity. She participated in an early iteration of the ELN (Emerging Leaders Network) and studied Pastoral Ministry at The School of Discipleship in Adairsville, Georgia. Her ministry experience includes coordinating and leading international missions work, directing community center operations, developing ministry content and programming, and grant writing (with two of her three grant requests being awarded). In this season, Nakisha is called to joyfully serve and lead others into fruitful – FULFILLING lives with Jesus.
