The age of AI has called into question everything we know about being human, leaving us to question whether what we hear is real, what we hear is real, or even what we see is real.

Those questions don’t just exist in the news, on social media, or in educational contexts. These questions have begun to be asked in churches and at pulpits. Artificial Intelligence has been developed as a “tool” for human engagement with the world, but there is not, nor will there ever be, an AI Holy Spirit.

AI is not an alternative for discernment, prayer, study, personal devotional time with the Lord, or any other aspect of a walk with Jesus that carries a pastor, preacher, or leader to church every Sunday. We will seek to answer the question:

What does it look like for AI to be a tool that enhances the work of the Spirit rather than attempts to replace it?
