DAN HEDGES
Dr. Dan Hedges has served as a minister and educational leader for over 50 years. He began
youth work as a teenager serving with young life as a club director. He was ordained by his
home church and began youth ministry and pastoral work, which he has continued along side
his educational career.
He attended the University of New Mexico studying speech and political science and completed
his undergraduate degree at Willam Jessup University. He went on to graduate studies at
Pepperdine University receiving a masters in theological studies. He then attended McCormick
Theological Seminary at the university of Chicago where he received a doctorate in church
revitalization and leadership studies.
In 1982 He was asked by Dr. Jerry Horner to serve on the founding faculty of Regent University
in Virginia Beach where he served as chairman of the graduate program in practical theology
and later initiated a Doctor of Ministry degree program. He continued his work in higher
education at Oral Roberts University as Associate Dean of the Doctoral Studies where he
headed a D.Min. program which sponsored a Korean language division.
Ordained as a pastor with the International Church of the Foursquare gospel, in addition to his
educational work has served as a pastor and church planter in Virginia, Oklahoma and New
Mexico. In 2002 he began serving the denomination in developing Bible Institutes and later
became National Director of Christian Education. In 2007 he was appointed Director of the
Global Center for Leadership Development by Foursquare President, Dr Jack Hayford. In this
role he represented the Foursquare Church as a founding board member and Vice Chairman of
the World Alliance of Pentecostal Theological Education. During this time he also served a
substantial role on the Pacific life University Board of Trustees.
Dr. Hedges has traveled extensively nationally and internationally serving as a teacher and
educational consultant in leadership development. He has published many scholarly articles in
major theological encyclopedias and dictionaries in the fields of Pentecostal and charismatic
studies.
Having recently retired to his home town in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dr Hedges continues to
speak and consult, and is active in local church ministry. He also oversees a large K-12
Christian school he helped found in 1976. He and Ginger, his life partner of fifty years,have
three children and five grand children.
