Dr. Rick DeLaTorre is a native of California, born and raised near the state capital in the city of Stockton. He has been married to his wife, Resa, for 43 years and has two grown sons, Stephen and Jared. Rick pastored New Heart Christian Fellowship (Foursquare) in West Los Angeles for 24 years before he transitioned to teaching. He is an LPU alumnus with a B.A. in Biblical Studies and Cross-Cultural Ministry, a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies and Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from George Fox University in Theological Semiotics of the Church and Culture.
