Life Pacific University is thrilled to announce that Dr. Daniel Ruarte has been newly named Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Dr. Ruarte’s title has changed from Vice President of Academic Affairs to Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, which aligns with the approved two-school structure for Life Pacific University. The academic structure was designed in 2018 and recently implemented to foster community and strategy within each academic discipline with dedicated oversight of each school by their respective Deans.
Dr. Ruarte has faithfully served as the University’s Chief Academic Officer since 2020. Since then, he has been a vital campus leader integrating faith, excellence, and strategy into LPU’s educational mission. He also secured the shared Lilly Grant in partnership with two other institutions. In line with the newly approved academic structure that includes a Dean for the School of Theology and Ministry and a Dean for the School of Arts and Sciences, the Provost will provide leadership and support to each area.
The Provost has a significant responsibility. As the senior ranking Cabinet officer, Dr. Ruarte will continue to lead the entire academic enterprise, overseeing programs, educational planning and policy, budget priorities, curricular formulation and implementation, and advancing the mission, vision, and values of the University. Additionally, he will lead the Provost’s office, Dean Council team, Library, and Registrar’s office and participate as an executive representative in multiple council and committee meetings.
He states, “It is an honor to serve God at LPU! It has been almost five years since I became a full-time faculty, and my heart has always been to see our school flourishing in all aspects. This new academic structure will align us with current higher education standards and position us for a stronger future. I pray for this next season that we will see God’s provision and blessings as we continue to fulfill our mission as an educational training institution for present and future generations.”
Life Pacific is pleased to continue to partner with our Provost, Dr. Daniel Ruarte, who continues to advance LPU’s academics through his godly leadership, research, promotion among stakeholders, and grant writing.
LPU congratulates Dr. Ruarte on this exciting achievement!
