F E L LO W S H I P

Welcome to the Foursquare Scholars Fellowship

Foursquare Scholars Fellowship was founded, desiring to enfranchise the scholars, educators, researchers, and students in higher education within the Foursquare family by providing various venues for dialogue, publication, & peer review and to be a resource to the Foursquare family.

WHO WE ARE

SCHOLARSHIP IN SERVICE TO THE FOURSQUARE CHURCH
The Foursquare Scholars Fellowship (FSF) is an unincorporated association of scholars,
educators, researchers, and students in higher education who are dedicated to the advance of the Gospel mission and ministry efforts of The Foursquare Church (the Church) through scholarly fellowship, learning, and publication activities. Officially sanctioned by the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, FSF operates separately from it, subject to ICFG Board oversight.

1.

Provide opportunities for members and invited others to fellowship, to learn, and to
discuss and publish their scholarly research.

2.

Cultivate the professional and scholarly growth and development of the membership.

3.

Foster practical and theoretical scholarship activities of excellence and distinction that
nurture and serve the ongoing life, faith, mission, and work of the Church (nationally and
globally) and, as appropriate, the larger body of Christ.

4.

Stress inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary fellowship, dialogue and scholarly
research in all FSF activities.

5.

Nurture within the Church awareness of and respect for the work and ministry of
Foursquare scholars, educators, researchers and students in higher education.

6.

Support the Church’s philosophy of education and ministerial education and training
efforts; e.g., by identifying, developing, and providing FSF and other scholarly resources
to its leaders, pastors, educators, students, and other disciple-learners.

7.

Stress intercultural and multi-cultural fellowship, dialogue and scholarly research in all
FSF activities vis-à-vis the global Foursquare church and the Great Commission’s
“peoples/nations/ethnē” (Matthew 28:19).

The Foursquare Scholars Fellowship (FSF) exists to provide scholarship in service of the Foursquare Church. To accomplish this purpose

Dedicated to preparing students for a lifetime of Christlike,FSF provides a venue for the discussion and publication of scholarly research in keeping with its purpose.

Recognizing that there are a variety of ways that scholarship can serve the church, FSF promotes a wide range of scholarly interaction from the practical to the theoretical as it intersects the life, faith, and mission of the Foursquare Church.

Acknowledging that the life, faith, and mission of the Foursquare Church touches on numerous fields and issues, FSF seeks to engage in interdisciplinary dialogue.

Affirming that the Foursquare Church is global, FSF fosters the development of high level international scholarship.

FSF seeks to raise awareness and appreciation within the Foursquare family for the scholarly work being produced by Foursquare scholars.

FSF seeks to be an identifiable scholarly resource base for our denominational leadership, pastors, and educators.

Quadrum

What exactly is Quadrum?

The word itself is Latin in origin, meaning “square,” “foursquare,” or “that which is in proper order.” Our sincere desire is that the scholarship presented in this journal would be both “Foursquare” and “in proper order.” Quadrum is a scholarly journal intentionally designed to be both substantive and accessible. The content herein is meant, on the one hand, to highlight robust scholarship produced by scholars in our Foursquare family and it is, on the other hand, intended to be accessible to the laymen and academician alike. The preponderance of articles you will find will have been produced by Foursquare scholars for the Foursquare family and beyond. From time to time, select articles from contributors outside our denomination may appear in Quadrum. This fact, in some respects, is a reflection of our value and desire to be “interdenominational in spirit.” We are grateful to these contributors for their investment in our movement.

Submissions

Submissions to Quadrum are welcome up until the posted due date, and should be sent to foursquarescholars@lifepacific.edu.
