Life Pacific University welcomes Professor Belen Gonzalez as the new full-time visiting instructor for the B.A. in Human Development and Psychology and M.A. in Counseling programs. Professor Gonzalez serves at Life Pacific University and has a teaching, ministry, and clinical social work background. As an LPU undergraduate alumna, her passion for the field of social work partners with her passion for the University and its students.

Dr. Daniel Ruarte, LPU Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, says, “We thank Prof. Gonzalez for her commitment to quality instruction and high student engagement. She has been teaching as an adjunct for our online programs, and the reports have been very positive. Prof. Gonzalez has the heart to serve the Lord at LPU by educating future Christian counselors, therapists, social workers, clinicians, and more. Her integration of faith and learning is fundamental for our Counseling and Psychology department and programs. We are looking forward to her involvement in the life of our LPU community and blessing HDP students.”

Professor Gonzalez has earned a Master’s in Social Work and is pursuing a Doctorate in Counseling and Psychological Studies with a concentration in Biblical Counseling from Regent University. Her ministry and educational background, relationship with students, and adjunct faculty status made her an ideal choice for this visiting instructor role. Through her experience in the mental health professions, she is well-equipped to empower future and current students to step into their calling within the Church, the workplace, and the world.

Professor Gonzalez has been married to her wonderful husband, Miguel Gonzalez, for 17 years. He has been incredibly supportive of his wife’s educational and career endeavors, especially now as she joins the LPU faculty. Together, they have 4 kids: Reveca who is 21, Mia who is 16, Matthew who is 15, and Camila who is 8. The whole Gonzalez family will be a blessing to the LPU community in the coming years.

Professor Gonzalez shares her excitement about joining the LPU team, “I’m Blessed to step into the role of visiting professor at LPU, specially during this exiting time of growth and development. My family and I celebrate the opportunity to serve the student body and collaborate with existing faculty. It’s exiting to be part of a University that embraces integration and allows clinicians as myself to flow in our spiritual gifting and embrace our Christian values”.

The MA in Counseling and BA in Human Development and Psychology will be greatly enriched by Professor Gonzalez’s commitment to education, ability to engage students actively, and the emphasis she places on bringing Christ into the center of the Counseling and Mental Health fields.
