University

We have much to be thankful for and celebrate! We praise God for the successful completion of the Master of Arts in Leadership Residency this July. This year is especially significant as we mark the program’s fifth anniversary.

We thank God for all the cohorts who have completed the degree in recent years, and we are also grateful for the students who joined this past year and are training to engage relevant leadership.

We are very grateful to God because we exceeded the goal proposed for the July 2024 cohort. More than twenty new students, including leaders, pastors, and professionals from different disciplines, entered the program. We must highlight that among them were several international and influential leaders from South America” says Dr. Hugo Aldana, the Director of Hispanic Initiatives.

During the residency week, the students enjoyed excellent professors and presentations that helped them better understand their subjects and challenged them to complete the program successfully. These were extraordinary days. The week ended with two events: an Educational Symposium and a Leadership Summit.

At the symposium, in addition to listening to a master class, the participants received the 2024-2025 Teacher Certification offered this year by the LPU Hispanic Initiatives Department. It was an extraordinary time of much information and academic renewal with a special guest, Asbury Theological Seminary professor Wilmer Estrada Carrasquillo, Ph.D.

The Cumbre de Liderazgo was a phenomenal event. It was a time full of praise and worship, where the song “Tu Memoria” was launched by one of our students, Onésimo Coa. The worship team was comprised musicians and performers from several Foursquare churches. At the end, we had a keynote lecture with Dr. Estrada Carrasquillo. We took the opportunity to thank God for Dr. Daniel Ruarte, founder of the master’s degree in Spanish. Dr. Enrique Zone was also recognized for his career as a Foursquare educator.

It was a great blessing to have professors, students, and pastors from various theological institutions and denominations present that day. We joined members of the Church of God, the Church of Friends, the Free Methodist Church, and the Foursquare Church, among others. This shows us the impact that God is generating through the efforts of LPU. Let us continue working and connecting more people to formal education.

“We celebrate five years of the MA in Leadership Spanish (MLSP) and this is only the beginning of its global impact through the lives of enrolled leaders and ministers. We give thanks to the Lord and to the outstanding leadership of Dr. Aldana and the team” shares LPU President Angie Richey

We are grateful to Associate Director Débora Bravo for her dedicated efforts in recruitment. We also extend our thanks to Sonia Montagut, who has joined the Hispanic team and will be instrumental in supporting both students and teachers. Special thanks goes to Yader Parrales for his assistance with multimedia. We deeply appreciate the leadership of our President, Dr. Angie Richey, Provost, Dr. Daniel Ruarte, and Dean, Dr. Jeff Tolle.

“We long to see more members of God’s family join this effort. There is room for everyone. We will be waiting for you!” says Dr. Hugo Aldana.

Enrolling now for the January Cohort.
