Life Pacific University students Nyree Brady, Claire Coffey, and Brianna De La Huerta, are spending their summer interning at Lifehouse Foursquare Church in San Antonio, Texas. Lifehouse Church is a part of the Central Foursquare District and is led by LPU alum, Pastor Ryan Coffey (’00).

At LPU, each student is required to complete an internship that relates to their chosen major. Nyree, Claire, and Brianna are all currently completing their requirements while serving at Lifehouse Church this summer. They will be serving in various roles at the church, as well as stepping in to assist with summer camps.

Nyree is a Mass Communications major and will be serving in tech and production.

Brianna is a Worship Arts and Media major and will be serving on the worship team and in the communications role.

Claire is a Mass Communications major and will also be serving in communications and worship.

While Nyree, Brianna, and Claire spent their summer in Texas, their internship took them to Colombia on a week-long missions trip with Lifehouse Church.

Lifehouse’s Assisting Pastor and Director of Communications, LPU alumna Rachel Van Proyen (’18), says,

“We took our 3 LPU interns, Nyree, Claire, and Brianna, on a missions trip to serve in Colombia, serving Foursquare churches in Bogota and working with Medical Ministry International who works to bring medical care & spiritual care to indigenous groups in the Amazon. From working in urban contexts in Bogota, facilitating youth & young adult services, to cleaning dental equipment in the high humidity of the Amazon rainforest, these students were incredible examples of servant leaders who were adaptable, quick to say yes, and attentive to the work of the Holy Spirit. Our church is so grateful to know these women and be a part of the story that God is writing in their lives.”

After serving on the missions trip in Colombia, Nyree says,

“I became very grateful for the life God has blessed me with. Being able to help people that have so little was the biggest blessing, just being able to see the smile on the children’s faces after getting a small toy at the dentist station was the biggest joy and made me remember to not take the small things for granted!”
