Life Pacific University student, Kate Smith, was selected to join the Association for Biblical Higher Education’s Reclaim Today Student Initiative professional writing and design cohort. This is the second year in a row that an LPU student has been among the chosen applicants for this prestigious cohort opportunity.

ABHE is partnering with Our Daily Bread Ministries (ODB) to create student opportunities made available to all member institutions of the ABHE. ABHE and ODB have partnered together to train 90 student spiritual formation content writers and designers over the next three years, with donors covering all costs for travel, lodging, and attendance at this landmark gathering. Life Pacific reached out to several students and encouraged them to apply to this highly competitive cohort program, with one student selected for admission. Kate Smith, a current freshman majoring in both Worship Arts and Media and Media and Communications. She attended this year’s conference in Orlando, Florida.

When asked about her experience in this ABHE Cohort, she shares,

“I’m so thankful for the opportunity I had to attend the Reclaim Today Writing and Design Intensive at the ABHE conference in Orlando, FL. As a part of the design group, we practiced creating user-centered designs that tell compelling Faith-focused stories while learning to incorporate the branding values, goals, and techniques of Reclaim Today. Throughout this experience, I formed meaningful connections with like-minded Christian students and had the chance to network with Christian University leaders. My time at the intensive was a blessing as it not only enriched my design skills but also offered practical lessons on abiding in Christ in the midst of daily life. I am grateful to Reclaim Today for this experience and the opportunity to be inspired by the passion of so many individuals who desire to serve the Lord by using their talents to encourage others in their walk with God”.

Geroge Bostanic, LPU’s COO, was excited for Kate to be accepted and partake in this incredible opportunity. He expresses that,

Kate Smith was selected for this 2nd year cohort of the exciting Reclaim Today Student Intensive, and I couldn’t pick a better student to represent LPU. Kate loves the Lord and has a passion for creativity. This intensive is all about applying your faith to your career goals. We are proud of Kate!”

Congratulations to Kate and her excellence in her personal, spiritual, and academic life that the ABHE acknowledged!
