Home E News E LPU Micro Campus Expands to New England’s Brazilian Churches

Off-site

Life Pacific University (LPU) is excited to announce the launch of LPU at Woburn Foursquare Church, a new Micro Campus serving the Portuguese-speaking Brazilian community across the New England and Atlantic District. This partnership marks a significant step in expanding affordable, accredited, Christ-centered higher education to immigrant families who have long dreamed of but often felt distant from earning a college degree.

The new Micro Campus will operate directly within Woburn Foursquare Church in Massachusetts, creating a trusted, familiar environment where students can take college courses, receive support, and be mentored by church leaders as they pursue their academic and ministry callings.

Opening Doors for the Brazilian Community

Sara Huson, Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing at LPU, shared her enthusiasm for this milestone:

“I am incredibly happy to see this door opening for our Brazilian community. This partnership means that students and families who once viewed higher education as out of reach can now see a clear, affordable, and Spirit-led pathway to pursue their calling. We are honored to support the Portuguese-speaking churches that have been faithfully investing in the next generation.”

A Shared Vision for Equipping Leaders

Pastor Eliana Runyon of Woburn Foursquare Church expressed deep gratitude and excitement over what this partnership will mean for the region’s Brazilian churches:

We are grateful and excited to see this door open for people to seek the education and training they need to fulfill their God-ordained kingdom purpose. We are blessed to serve the Portuguese-speaking Brazilian churches in the region through the opening of the Woburn Foursquare Micro Campus.

An LPU Micro Campus located within our local church makes higher education seem more reachable as pastors and leaders have individual conversations to explain the opportunity to students and parents who might consider a college degree an out-of-reach dream for a variety of reasons.

Within our immigrant community the questions about higher education are many, and when there is no guidance, it seems as though opportunities don’t exist. As pastors, we consider an LPU education one of the pathways that God can use to develop people into well-prepared agents of peace in society and ministers of the Gospel, whatever their career might be.

Our church has invested in theological and biblical training for our members for decades through our Foursquare-certified local Foursquare Theological Institute. We are thrilled that LPU will convert some credits from that training into college credit. This is a particularly exciting point of motivation for our Institute alumni.

In Him,
Eliana

Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders

LPU’s Micro Campus model allows local churches to become hubs of academic and spiritual formation. Students can begin their degrees while staying embedded in their home community and receiving mentorship from their pastors. This model is especially impactful in immigrant communities where financial, cultural, and informational barriers often prevent students from pursuing education.

The Woburn Micro Campus will offer pathways in Ministry and Leadership, Worship Arts & Media, Organizational Management, Psychology, and additional programs through LPU’s accredited undergraduate program offerings.

A Growing Movement Across the Nation

The launch of LPU at Woburn Foursquare Church represents part of LPU’s broader vision to bring Christian higher education into local churches across the United States. With Micro Campuses already thriving in multiple states, the model continues to expand, meeting students where they are and empowering them to pursue their God-given purpose.
