Life Pacific University closed out Welcome Week on Friday, September 4, with Fall One Day, bringing students together in the chapel for a day centered on worship, prayer, student-led ministry, baptisms, and creating space to encounter God at the beginning of a new academic year.
The day unfolded across two sessions, beginning with a daytime gathering filled with worship, ministry, and messages from student leaders. Students returned to the chapel that evening for a second session marked by extended worship, prayer, ministry moments, and original songs from LPU Worship shared with the student body for the first time.
For George Bostanic, who has experienced Fall One Day and its former Fall Retreat format for 12 years, this year stood apart.
“I have never sensed the presence of God like I did this past Friday night. Our students are hungry, expectant, and on fire for what the Lord is doing here at LPU. There is a genuine stirring happening in this community, and I believe we are stepping into something new.”
One of the most significant moments of Fall One Day came through baptisms as students publicly declared their faith surrounded by friends, classmates, and members of the LPU community.
Kristina Stover, Director of Career and Global Engagement, had the opportunity to personally baptize several students.
“Seeing their friends surround them, pray over them, and cheer as they came up out of the water was incredibly powerful. There is truly nothing like seeing someone give their life fully to Jesus!”
For Stover, the baptisms reflected something she and others have sensed across campus as the new semester begins.
“Collectively, we have sensed God moving in a new and fresh way on LPU’s campus. Our students are spiritually hungry, open to what God is doing, and there is such a genuine sense of joy. I think that joy is a beautiful mark of God’s presence among His people.”
Campus Pastor Daniel Fernandez described Fall One Day as an “exclamation point to Welcome Week,” pointing to the baptisms, student-led ministry, powerful messages, and original LPU Worship songs as moments that stirred students and prepared them to begin the new school year.
Fall One Day reflects Life Pacific University’s commitment to spiritual formation as a central part of the student experience. Through worship, chapel, prayer, ministry, and community, students are encouraged not simply to learn about faith, but to actively grow in their relationship with Jesus alongside one another.
After a Welcome Week filled with opportunities to connect, build community, and experience life at LPU, Fall One Day brought the week to a close by returning students to the heart of the university’s mission: pursuing Jesus together.
As the 2026–27 academic year begins, the day offered a powerful picture of the spiritual hunger already present across campus: students worshiping together, encouraging one another, publicly declaring their faith, and entering the year expectant for what God will do next.
