Life Pacific University is delighted to announce the hire of LPU alumnus and friend, Angel G. Cavazos, as the new Director of Student Financial Services. An LPU 2020 M.A. in Strategic Leadership graduate with more than 17 years of higher education work experience in student services and financial aid, Angel is excited to return to his alma mater where he will lead the financial aid and student accounts departments full-time beginning August 5, 2024.

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Angel Cavazos to the Student Financial Services team as our new Director. As a proud alumnus of our MASL program, an ordained pastor, and someone currently pursuing a master’s in counseling, Angel truly embodies the values we hold dear. With his extensive experience in financial aid and student accounts, coupled with his compassionate approach, we know he’ll be an incredible asset to our team and a tremendous support to our students. We’re excited to have him on board!” says Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing, Sara Huson, MAED.

A champion for advanced education, Angel earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at St. Mary’s University and will complete his M.A. degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling this year. Angel serves as Senior Pastor alongside his wife Adriana, who is an LPU MASL and BAML alumna, at their home church, Faro a las Naciones Church in Denver, Colorado. The two are passionate about seeing lives changed by The Word and Spirit of God.

Angel shares, “I am excited for this opportunity to serve the LPU community, as I am passionate about serving students and their families as students embark on their financial journey here toward fulfilling the respective callings that God has placed on their lives. The Lord has great plans for LPU, and I am blessed to be a part of what He is doing here!”

“We are thrilled to welcome Angel to our team! Along with years of experience in both pastoral ministry and financial aid, it is truly his heart to serve the Lord, as well as the LPU community, that will prove to be his greatest asset as he supports our students throughout their educational journey. We look forward to working with Angel and seeing the many ways his talent and leadership will positively shape the future of our university,” says Luci Perez, Director of Financial Aid.

Angel’s heart for Christ, love for LPU and the Church, combined with his proven track record in financial services and enrollment management at Colorado Christian University and St. Mary’s University, position him to serve LPU students and the institution’s mission with distinction.
