Home E News E Hosanna Kibrom ‘25: A Story of Growth, Grace, and Purpose at Life Pacific University

University, California

As Hosanna Kibrom prepares to walk across the graduation stage at Life Pacific University, she does so not only with a degree in hand, but with a heart transformed and a future rooted in purpose. Her story is one of growth, deep spiritual renewal, and unwavering commitment to the call of God on her life—a story that now continues as she joins the very team that once welcomed her to LPU: the Admissions Office.

Reflecting on her journey, Hosanna shares that one of the most valuable academic lessons she’s learned is the importance of intentionality. “It’s not enough to simply show up,” she says. “You have to be present, participate, and engage with purpose.” But perhaps the most profound growth happened in her personal life, where she confronted deeply rooted character struggles like pride, insecurity, and unhealed pain. “Sanctification is not always neat or quick,” she admits, “but it is holy and worthwhile.”

Hosanna’s time at LPU was marked by meaningful involvement in the campus community—serving as the Events Chair for the Multicultural Student Organization, leading worship in chapel, and working in the Admissions Office for three years. These accomplishments, while significant, are not what she holds most dear. “I’m most proud of the internal victories,” she reflects. “God met me in my mess, peeled back the layers, and began to heal and reshape me from the inside out.”

The verse that guided her through this refining journey is Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” For Hosanna, this verse is more than a mantra—it’s the foundation of her life. As she learned to seek God above all else, she discovered a newfound freedom and peace. “My relationship with Jesus has become steady—no longer built on feelings or circumstances, but on who He is.”

Looking ahead, Hosanna’s path is both clear and God-ordained. She will continue serving in the LPU Admissions Office as Outreach Coordinator while pursuing her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. With a special passion for serving the Eritrean and Ethiopian communities, Hosanna feels called to bring healing where trauma and silence have long prevailed. She will also continue her role as Youth Director at Bisrat Wongel Eritrean Church, where she is witnessing a powerful movement of faith among young people.

When asked what has had the greatest impact on her time at LPU, Hosanna doesn’t hesitate: “The community.” From professors and staff to her closest friends and family, the people around her became mirrors of God’s grace and instruments of growth. “They reminded me of who I am and whose I am,” she says.

As she transitions from student to staff, what she’ll miss most is that very sense of closeness—being surrounded daily by people who love Jesus and walk alongside you in life and faith. Yet even in leaving, she carries the essence of that community with her.

For incoming students, Hosanna offers timeless wisdom: “Prioritize Jesus above everything. Be present. Journal, reflect, and grow through it all. And find your people—community makes all the difference.”

Hosanna Kibrom leaves LPU a humbled, Christ-centered, and Spirit-led woman—ready to step into her next season with boldness, clarity, and compassion. And as she continues to serve on campus, her story will be a beacon to many others stepping onto the same path she once walked: a path of transformation, calling, and divine purpose.
