Home E News E Anthony Brunske ‘25: From Stage to Scripture—A Story of Healing, Leadership, and Calling

University, California

For Anthony Brunske, graduating from Life Pacific University is more than a milestone—it’s the culmination of a life transformed through faith, community, and calling. With a deepening relationship with Christ and a renewed passion for acting, Anthony leaves LPU prepared to step into both the spotlight and his God-given purpose.

Reflecting on the lessons he’s learned, Anthony highlights how LPU challenged his understanding of Scripture in a transformative way. “One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned at LPU has been to understand the context of Scripture to aid my interpretation,” he says. “Rather than assuming what I already know or want to hear from Scripture, I’ve learned to listen and study with humility.”

But Anthony’s growth didn’t stop in the classroom. Through three years of service as a Resident Assistant, he discovered a resilience he didn’t know he had. “There were several times when I felt like giving up,” he admits, “but God gave me the resilience to keep going and do my best.” That perseverance not only shaped his character—it strengthened his calling as a leader and example to others.

Anthony’s spiritual journey is marked by a deeply personal testimony. His favorite verse, Philippians 4:6-7, has been a source of strength and healing: “Jesus radically healed me of my anxiety during high school,” he shares. At LPU, that healing grew into maturity. “My relationship with God has strengthened over the years, as I have stayed in Godly community and followed after Jesus.”

That same community has been the heartbeat of Anthony’s LPU experience. “Being able to be part of a community where I can grow alongside my brothers and sisters in Christ has been amazing,” he reflects. “I have made lifelong friends here that have deeply impacted my life.”

While Anthony once wrestled with uncertainty, he leaves LPU with clarity and passion for the future—thanks in part to his involvement with LPU Arts. “As I began performing again, it reignited the love I had for theatre and acting,” he says. “Now I want to pursue acting as my career, bringing Jesus into Hollywood and teaching others what I have learned.”

Influential mentors have guided him on this journey, including Professor Jim W. Adams, who “taught me not only to draw out the biblical meaning of a text, but also develop critical thinking skills.” These skills, Anthony says, have equipped him to help others engage with Scripture in deeper, more thoughtful ways.

Anthony offers heartfelt advice to future Warriors: “Engage with every class you take because the professors who designed the courses are geniuses. Participate in activities and programs because they are so fun and life-giving. And do at least one show with LPU Arts because I did, and it changed my life.”

Anthony Brunske leaves LPU as a storyteller, leader, and example of Christ’s power to heal and guide. His heart for God, love for community, and passion for the arts reflect the kind of bold, Spirit-filled graduate LPU is proud to send into the world.
