Life Pacific University and Legacy Church have signed a new memorandum of understanding, establishing a partnership focused on expanding access to Christ-centered education, spiritual formation, and leadership development.
The partnership will help create an educational pathway for individuals who want to pursue their calling while remaining actively connected to their church and community. Legacy Church is led by husband-and-wife co-lead pastors Justin and Delicia Hamilton, who shared their excitement about providing students with an educational experience shaped by both academic preparation and faith.
“I think there are a lot of people going to community colleges, which is great, but they want to do something that is God-calling and God-driven with their education,” Delicia Hamilton said. “I love that we have this opportunity to do this within our church because I think it is going to allow multiple people to feel like, ‘Yes, that is what I want to do.’”
Hamilton also emphasized the importance of allowing students to pursue an education without losing their connection to the people and community that have supported their spiritual development.
“For parents who do not want their kids to go off and lose their grounding and community, this really allows them to stay,” she said.
The partnership closely aligns with Legacy Church’s mission to help people love, live, and lead like Jesus. Through education and practical experience, the church hopes to equip students to serve in ministry, business, and wherever God may call them.
“Our mission is to love, live, and lead like Jesus,” Justin Hamilton said. “Giving people a practical way to do that, whether they go into ministry, business, or something else, allows us to be a conduit. I am really excited to help people and equip people through this.”
Following the signing, leaders from Life Pacific University and Legacy Church prayed over the partnership, the students who will participate, and the long-term impact the collaboration could have on the church and surrounding community.
“We pray that this would be a friendship relationship, but also a Kingdom relationship,” said Dr. Daniel Ruarte, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Life Pacific University. “We pray that we would see God’s mighty power move through the students into the community, into the church, and into the life of the church.”
Dr. Angie Richey, President of Life Pacific University, also prayed for the future students who will be equipped through the partnership and for the continued growth of Legacy Church.
“This is a multiplying church and a multiplying movement—one that may reach far beyond what we can even imagine,” Richey said. “We are grateful for every student God will call to Legacy Leadership College. They represent the next generation of leaders who will help grow not only Legacy Church, but the Kingdom of God.”
The new partnership reflects the shared commitment of Life Pacific University and Legacy Church to equip emerging leaders through accessible education, local church involvement, and Spirit-filled formation. Together, the organizations look forward to helping students grow in their faith, develop their leadership, and prepare to serve God in the Church, the workplace, and the world.
