Life Pacific University announced four 2027 missions trips during Global Vision Week chapel, inviting students to serve alongside ministry partners in Belize, San Francisco, Uganda, and the Philippines.
The announcement builds on LPU’s annual Global Vision Week, which connects students with leaders serving locally and around the world. This year’s trips offer opportunities to learn from those partners, build relationships, and put faith into practice.
Spring Break: Belize and San Francisco
LPU will travel to Belize for the first time, partnering with Foursquare Missions International leader Stacy Strickland and Pillar Collective. Led by LPU coach Kyler Kennedy, the team will use sports to connect with children and youth through mentorship, community outreach, and local church ministry.
A second spring break team will return to San Francisco to serve with Urban Exchange and LPU alumni Noah and Rachele Coombs. Students will participate in urban outreach and community service while learning from leaders who serve the city. During chapel, students considering their first missions trip were encouraged to explore this opportunity.
Summer: Uganda and the Philippines
In May and June, a team will travel to Gulu, Uganda, for a 12-day trip with World Embrace and local leaders. Planned opportunities include sports outreach, children’s programs, prison ministry, and community engagement. Kyler Kennedy will lead the trip. His wife, Claire Kennedy, is from Uganda and has ties to World Embrace.
LPU will also send a team to Manila, Philippines, for the Foursquare Global Young Adults Conference. Selected LPU worship students have been invited to help lead worship, while other team members will serve the conference in additional roles. Afterward, students will take part in local outreach, missions training, and conversations about calling with Foursquare Missions International leader Sherry Dunigan. Alex Wright will lead the LPU team.
Building on a Year of Service
The new opportunities follow a year of student service. In 2026, LPU teams served in San Francisco, Puerto Rico, and Romania and Egypt. Alongside local partners, students took part in outreach, worship, prayer, and practical service. Their reflections describe how the trips strengthened their faith, stretched their ability to lead, and changed the way they see the people and communities they serve.
Connecting Students with Global Leaders
Chapel gave students a chance to meet visiting ministry leaders and consider where service might lead after a short term trip. Students were invited to speak with Johanna Otto, a Foursquare Missions International district representative, about opportunities to explore missionary service. Leaders also shared ways students could become involved in longer assignments and disaster relief.
Students were invited to begin their 2027 trip applications following chapel. An interest meeting will take place during chapel hour on Thursday, October 1, in classroom 231 for those who want to learn more about each opportunity.
Museum of the Bible Experience
Chapel also highlighted a separate opportunity for students: LPU’s Museum of the Bible Experience in Washington, D.C. Made possible by a donor, the annual trip will bring students together with faculty and staff to explore biblical history, visit sites in the nation’s capital, and reflect on what they learn together.
The inaugural trip is planned for May 2027 and is fully funded for participating students. It is an LPU learning and spiritual formation experience, separate from the four missions trips announced during Global Vision Week.
Through Career and Global Engagement, LPU continues to connect students with experiences that deepen their learning and prepare them to serve God in the Church, the workplace, and the world.
