On Saturday, November 11th, 2023, a memorandum of understanding was officially signed by the President of Foursquare Spain, Rev. Fernando Ecija, and the Provost of Life Pacific University, Dr. Daniel Ruarte.

“This agreement will continue to unite our efforts to train pastors and leaders across the globe. President Angie and President Ecija are both visionaries who understand the need to work together to accomplish the great commission and develop ‘more and growing leaders together on mission’. I want to thank everyone involved in this MOU, in particular, Dr. Hugo Aldana and Rev. Debora Bravo who worked tirelessly to make this happen with excellence and professionalism.” Dr. Daniel Ruarte, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Dr. Ruarte was invited to speak at their national convention and the agreement was signed on the main stage in front of over 600 attendees. This mutual agreement was received with expectation and hope for a stronger partnership between the Foursquare Bible Institute of Spain (Instituto Bíblico Cuadrangular de España) and LPU’s Hispanic Programs and Initiatives.

We looked forward to great fruitfulness in Hispanic programs and initiatives globally for the Kingdom of God” says LPU President, Dr. Angie Richey.

LPU’s Director of Hispanic Programs, Dr. Hugo Aldana worked with their team to arrange all details including the review of their curriculum and programs to attest quality and reach the required level of academic rigor and excellence. Both institutions worked together for this common partnership and the result was a great celebration.

“The MOU with IBCE of Spain brings the LPU academy closer to Europe, building a bridge so that mainly Spanish-speaking students can access higher education at the alma mater of our denomination. The efforts of the Hispanic department, especially Coordinator Débora Bravo’s work and our rector’s support, Dr. Ruarte, have made this agreement possible. The president of the Foursquare Church of Spain, the Reverend Fernando Écija, is willing to maintain and raise the quality of IBCE education. We thank God for this excellent opportunity to serve both sides of the Atlantic”, Dr. Hugo Aldana, the Director of Hispanic Initiatives at LPU.

The hope is for this agreement to facilitate a smooth partnership for students to join Life Pacific University’s Certificates, and one of our signature degrees, the MA in Leadership-Spanish Language.
